Lido Beach Pavilion Project

In 2011, an Ad-Hoc Lido Pool Committee was formed with members of the LKRA, City of Sarasota Advisors and IBI Group, which donated their services. In January of 2012, this committee made a presentation with their recommendations.   The Link here is the original presentation that they made to the city commissioners on January 17,  2012. Subsequently, some modifications were made.

Lido Beach Pavilion Project

At the December 4, 2015 LKRA Board meeting the Lido Beach Pavilion Project was discussed and the Board decided to send a letter to the Sarasota City officials to reinforce our position on the project. To summarize, less is best for Lido Key. LKRA agrees that renovations are needed, but not at the expense of the character of Lido Key. Click on the button to review the letter that was sent.

Lido Beach Pavilion Project

The City of Sarasota issued an Invitation To Negotiate (ITN)  to solicit qualified parties interested in leasing, renovating and/or constructing capital improvements, at the tenants expense, at the property known as 400 Ben Franklin Drive. The area is the Lido Beach Pavilion and surrounding area.

Only one development company has come forward with a proposal. It is JWM Management Inc.

The JWM proposal calls for a restaurant, a water park and a miniature golf area. These are just concepts at this point.  It will take as long as two years before anything concrete is settled on. The Lido Beach community will be invited to community meetings when the city has developed a Plan. It is assumed that there will be a charge to use these facilities.

Here are renderings of what JWM is proposing thus far:

In the meantime, LKRA is collecting comments from our residents in regard to what they want for this area.
